Took FOR. EV. ER. There must be some 40+ layers there, and at least 5 hand-drawn separately with the light board. Ow. >.<

I like the way Holly crouches down in horror...
wow...defintely worth the wait!
i love how there's so many things to look at - body language and facial expressions of the couples flanking the swirl, the girl in the foreground, the spilled glass, the textured wood, and holly getting overwhelmed again. so totally worth the wait!
You are so talented.
Thanks everybody! Just one more page to go... I thought I'd be done last December, but these more free-flowing pages take a lot longer to do. :/ And they aren't really intuitive to me. I stare at the modern comic format and just think, "Huh?" Because so far this has all been story-boarding a film to me, boxed stills of what is moving around in my head rather than the dramatic freeze-action shots and scenic backdrops most artists select. Add to that, I am (obviously, alas!) still vacillating between disney and stylized realism. Oh well, as I said at the beginning, this is just a trial run for my real novel. I've been thinking about that one a lot more these days...
Fantastic page! Well worth the effort (man, all the details are intense!). I love the way you render with the pencil.
