This set is drawn largely from The Perilous Gard (see Favorite Books), but I had to throw in a bit from Red Feather in the middle (and I didn't think anyone would get a reference to the gray creature in Pope's book). My hope was to get prints made of these three, but I'm not sure if that will ever work (I've had no luck with the whole painting -> print process before).

Ladybugs have a very iconic quality. After I made a ladybug cake for a friend's wedding, I started exploring the idea of a ladybug dress. I have several sketches created after this one, but I haven't yet found the "perfect" design.

I thought when I drew this that she should be all in greys and whites, but upon coloring her in, it became apparent that she looked much better in darker colors. Oh well. This is why I do not paint much.

I detest the victorian fairy: cute little girls hiding in flowers. The faerie were a very spooky and dangerous sort. They stole children and led men to their deaths in the bogs. Nothing cute there.
