This didn't turn out quite like I intended. I can never seem to get the right purple from acrylic - this is quinacridone magenta mixed with ultramarine blue, and it's pretty close but doesn't quite reach the luminosity I want.
Still, I think it is nice enought not to paint over. :)

This was done with a traditional underpainting. You can see the stages here: deviantArt
I have been trying to learn how to paint more... well... spontaneously, but after 3 failures I was feeling pretty low, so I did this one with a method I was more familiar with from my days painting in oils. The good news is that for once I really did manage to get a good mimic of an oil painting - it has the same depth and sheen and brightness. Which I think is a first for me in acrylics. So that's good at least. But i haven't given up on spontaneous painting yet. I just won't post those pictures.

This is probably easiest to read in my deviantArt Gallery.
This was far and away the hardest page yet. It contains the two things I hate to draw most in the world - cars and trees. Urgh. And it took forever. But it is my favorite. And the penultimate is the closest I've come to drawing Holly properly yet. :)
